About

I am a ceramic sculptor based in North Wales, working at the intersection of form, psychology, and the human condition. My practice is rooted in clay, developed through three years of intensive study culminating in a degree in Applied Arts, with a specialisation in ceramic sculpture.

My work is deeply influenced by my lived experience as an aging woman and a lifelong interest in human psychology. I use clay to explore themes of identity, emotion, and change—particularly how time and experience shape both body and mind. The sculptures often feature interchangeable, abstract heads, designed to either conceal or amplify emotional presence. This fluidity allows the viewer to engage with multiple readings of the figure: some playful, some contemplative, some quietly unresolved.

Surface is integral to my process. I work with oxides and underglazes, applying them after bisque firing in layered, responsive ways. These treatments create textured, imperfect surfaces that echo skin, wear, and memory. I often incorporate intentional marks—crosses, smiley faces, or scratches—that interrupt the surface with quiet symbolism. Each piece holds its own visual history, carrying the marks of process and touch.

All my sculptures are individually hand-built, and priced to reflect the time, material, and emotional labour involved in their making. I consider each one a physical reflection of psychological experience—a kind of conversation between clay and consciousness.
